The Shalom Journeys Heritage tour in February 2020 was for me the life changing event I had been expecting but not only because of the quality of the events included in the tour. In the TelAviv area with Levi and through the rest of the journey to Jerusalem, the North, the Negev, the Dead Sea and Eilat with Meni, our two small groups had become a diverse family blended by our tour guide drivers with encyclopedic knowledge, personally fascinating life stories, just the right blend of interpersonal humor, and brilliant efficiency throughout our travels. They delivered everything promised and bonus surprises every day seemingly tailored to our specific group. We saw traffic delays at a distance and waiting lines after we left a site but never experienced any ourselves. To top it all off, on several occasions, bright interested young tourists from other tours would drift off from their groups and follow at a discreet distance to listen to Meni. A call every few days from Shalom was most assuring as well as their successful interventions on my behalf when I had made mistakes on some adjustment I had made to some personal plans at the end of the tour.
