In May 2022, I spent 5 days in the Silent Retreat with Mayadevi and Shintai. As their only guest, I was warmly welcomed into their meditative space. We shared delicious vegetarian meals as well as the silence. The retreat is fairly remote, so an excellent location to take in nature with beautiful views of Mount Subasio and plenty of walking and hiking options. Facilities were clean and stylishly minimalistic with great attention to detail. I found what I was looking for - hospitality, compassion and silence. Although it is a space of silence, we had daily sharing sessions to reflect upon observations and inisghts, with both Mayadavi and Shintai providing very personal guidance. I‘ll be back one day!
