The Silent Retreat Center has been my silver lining in very difficult times, an experience I was desperately looking forward to for weeks, to bring back some peace and quiet, some light and hope into my life. To live and thrive again. The eight days individual stay has by all means lived up to my expectations. The location itself, in the midst of a marvelous scenery of rolling hills and olive groves, surrounded by a mystic flair full of history and energy coming over from Assisi, is in itself nourishment and inspiration for mind, body and soul.
The hosts, Mayadevi and Shintai, provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for a journey together in silence, yet with enough room for privacy and individual headspace. In addition, they offered tailor made (spiritual) guidance and advice, when enquired, with the utmost sensitivity and compassion to meet my needs, based on decades of relevant experience and long careers in the field. Their pure presence, their kindness and their passion for creating a meditative space, a space to develop a deeper understanding of oneself and discover new perspectives, makes the Silent Retreat Center a very unique and highly recommendable experience for those who are open to giving in to and immersing oneself in an emotionally “wild ride” in stillness, nothingness, in just being.
My profound gratitude goes out to you, Mayadevi and Shintai, for supporting me on a bumpy path to find a way to cope with various challenges. Thank you for bringing me back to life.
