Brilliant Book
This is a first rate book which combines fascinating details of the artist's life and how it feeds into his art work. I love the way the book is structured, with distinct sections for differing phases and types of the artist's work and it is easy to see how he worked as an illustrator for some phenomenal projects and why his art work was so critical in enabling major building projects to be delivered. However, for me, of particular interest are the figurative works, where everyday activities are depicted in the most sensitive and interesting way. Without overburdening the works with too much detail, powerful imagery and emotion are conveyed - how he does it, I don't know but it's fantastic.
