Robert Weed handled my post-divorce bankruptcy in 2010. I was feeling ashamed to do a bankruptcy, but an uncovered emergency medical expense, a short sale during my divorce and the 2008 financial crisis, a layoff and prolonged unemployment, and not wanting to saddle my fiancé with my debt when we became married led me to do so. Robert Weed made me feel much better about accepting the fresh start that bankruptcy provides. Recently, I discovered that a joint account with my first wife (which was definitely included in my bankruptcy) was being reported on my credit. My ex-wife had missed some payments and my credit score plummeted. I tried to reason with the credit union reporting the incorrect information, showing them my bankruptcy order and proof from a 2011 credit report showing the discharged account (thanks to my wife for saving that). But the credit union did not act, and disputes to the credit bureaus just came back "denied" as "creditor certifies information is correct." Even though he is a bankruptcy lawyer and not a credit repair specialist, I contacted Robert Weed, explained the situation, and he dashed off a letter to the credit union. A couple weeks later, the derogatory information and the discharged account were removed from all three bureaus and my credit score rebounded back over 800. It is sad that it takes legal threat to get an organization to do the right thing, but that is the way it is. It is then really necessary to have someone like Robert Weed on your side in these situations.

Michael, thanks for your kind words. Actually getting them to straighten up was kinda fun, for a lawyer anyway.
