Best Way to Experience Kurdistan!
Today was a very informative and enjoyable day with Karwan driving from Erbil to Sulaimaniya. During our time together, Karwan told me a lot about the Kurdish history and relationships with the four countries that make up Kurdistan. As well, we talked about the language and culture of this semi-autonomous region of Iraq. We visited an interesting museum in an Ottoman era fort in Koysinjaq and overlooked beautiful Dukan Lake with a cup of chai/tea. In Sulaimaniya, Karwan helped me check into my hostel and then showed me a bit of the bazaar where we had a delicious Kurdish lunch. Karwan’s English is excellent and he is very knowledgeable. I can highly recommend him as a guide for the best and most interesting way to see Kurdistan, especially if you don’t speak Kurdish!
