My favorite guide
Having visited 143 countries around the world, I have met a few guides over the years, but Karwan is the only one I have travelled with twice. In December 2016 I did a three day tour of Kurdistan, and immediately felt that travelling with Karwan was like travelling with an old friend. So in 2017 I made plans for going again. But then came a time of unrest with Iran and then Covid, so only this year I could go again. In the meantime, Karwan had become able to guide south of the Kurdistan border as well, so this time we met in Baghdad and drove north through Mosul and ended in Erbil. I have already booked Karwan for my next trip in the mountains. He is super relaxed, speaks perfect English, and goes out of the way to accommodate all your wishes.
