Dr. Serkan Aygin and his clinic staff deserve a HUGE standing ovation for going above & beyond to make sure their patients receive a professional, warm, and inviting experience. I interviewed over a dozen surgery clinics over the course of 24 months, and I'd like to give you an idea of what factored into my decision, what the experience was like, and several tips if you decide to do it.
Biggest factors in my decision:

- State-of-the art technology
- Honest about what results I can expect
From the beginning, I started communicating with Klea, one of the clinic coordinators. She is prompt, professional, and the questions she answered over the course of 12 months could fill a novel. One thing you notice immediately - and the ultimate reason I chose Dr. Aygin's clinic - is that Klea & staff go in far greater depth on your pictures and desired results to ensure you are a good candidate. I've known people that went to other clinics and had their donor area over-harvested, but Klea helped deliver a custom plan that protected the donor area while maximizing results. I heard good things about Berk from other patients, but I can't recommend Klea enough if you can get assigned to her.
I stayed for 3 nights, but I'd recommend staying longer if you can manage it. Istanbul is an amazing place with unique food, culture, and views. The clinic takes care of transportation, lodging, and treatment from the time you land to the moment you leave. Hit me up if you need restaurant recommendations, I tried a couple in the MIchelin guide that blew me away.
Day 1 - Consultation / Pre-Operative Treatment
The clinic will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the clinic for a detailed 3D scan and operation walk-through. See if you can get paired up with Ezgi. She is warm, welcoming, and was not rushed as she explained the procedure and answered all my questions.
Tip: Do the pre-operative treatment if they recommend it to you. Dr. Aygin's clinic have a range of options from PRP to exosome to stem cells, but the doctor was straightforward and said the expensive option wouldn't do much good for me, but the exosome would be beneficial. I'm glad I did it.
**Day 2 - Operation Day
I'm sure all the doctors are great, but if you have the option, make sure you choose Dr. Ibrahim Ekip!
I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ibrahim and his outstanding staff: Serap, Seda, Bazak, Ece, and Betul. Dr. Ibrahim & team put my mind at ease and made me feel like I wsas in safe hands. Dr. Ibrahim is a highly skilled and professional surgeon and still maintains great bedside manner and a personal touch. The procedure went off without a hitch, and I'm forever grateful and would definitely recommend this team to friends and family. Ezgi even confided in me that when Dr. Aygin got his hair transplant, it was Dr. Ibrahim who did it.
Tip: See if you can take breakfast / treats for your team! It's not expected, but these guys work long hours to give you a new look for the rest of your life, I'm sure they appreciate the thanks.
My translator, Yaren is a rock star! Her proficiency in translating complex instructions between languages is unmatched. She also holds a keen insight into cultural nuances, ensuring I never had to think twice about communicating with the team. Her professionalism and dedication were evident throughout my stay. Not only did I feel like a patient - I felt like a member of the extended family.
Day 3 - Post-Op Day
Detailed post-op instructions and the option to buy topical treatments. Make sure you save space in your luggage and buy them in Istanbul, they are much cheaper than what you'll find in the States.
I rarely leave reviews, but after this experience I had to express my gratitude. The modern facilities and technology are great, but it's the people that will leave you in awe.
