Dissapointing after sales service Bought a new Parsun 9.8 remte control engine from BHM in November 2023, went to Wales to collect. Finally got around to fitting to the boat at the beginning of 2024. Inital problem was that the control cables did not fit correctly, after several calls to BHM I manufactured an extension part, BHF were not able to provide an explanation or solution to this issue. After getting the engine running it was immediately apparent that the low oil pressure warning sounder and lamp were not operating. After many calls to BHM they eventually supplied a replacement wiring loom and CDI unit, which corrected the problem. The wiring connector had been incorrectly and poorly fitted, presumably by BHM. I returned the CDI and wiring harness at my expense. When the problems were finally resolved, taking over five visits to the boat (40 miles from home) it was agreed that BHM would supply a FOC a few service spares. There has been no response for over six weeks. Overall Bill Higham Marine have not provided anything like the service expected. I am a mechanical engineer so was able to reolve the issues, although it took a frustrating amount of time, What any average boater would do is anybodys guess.
