terrible PLEASE DONT USE Please do not use the company for any Guardian roof conversions or any other works. We booked Scotts of reading in September 2022 to have our conservatory converted with a guardian roof, Bi-fold doors etc. It was a shambles from day one. The weather was terrible very wet, we were happy for them to postpone the work till the following week when the weather brightened up. They were happy to continue in the pouring rain. They never sheltered the existing structure up properly, so everything inside got soaked, the floor got wrecked, walls were wet. The guardian roof then turned up. It was fitted, they then realised the roof was over a metre to short. This was again left unprotected by the rain. Water was getting to everything. 6 weeks later, the conversion was still not completed, when they told us it would take 4 weeks maximum. Finally they came back to build the existing wall up to match the pitch height of the new roof. They then used garden slabbing stones on top of the wall instead of coping stones. We were away for that Christmas, came back to a third of the wall completed soaked inside. So after several weeks of investigating by Scotts, they then realised there "mistake" and replaced the slabs with coping stones. Move on a few more months, baring in mind the decorating still hadn't been completed, another leak started. This time above the Bi-fold doors. It was like a tap. Water dripping through along the top of the doors and on to the floor. So again they come out, scratch their heads because they don't have a clue and remove the roof tiles. Nothing found.......they then cover every gap, hole, and crevasse with sealant. This does nothing and the leak is worse than before. They send another team out......who again scratch their heads, rip the tiles off again, and notice the roof is missing a soaker. The team mentioned how soaked the wood is underneath the tiles, I reported this back to Neal Kay (our point of reference) and he wasn't bothered about it, said it would dry out. We are now in July 2024, the decorating has not been finished, the leak is still there, and Neal no longer responds to my emails. Please do not use these cowboy builders. We spent a lot of money on this conversion. We are now going to have to fork out more money to get a professional company in to rectify the work as Scotts of Reading have refused to compensate us in anyway. Neals response was, "We have not walked away from the Job, therefore your not entitled to any Compensation from us" Please do not use this company
