Reasonable cost and practical style - pleased with my purchase On the whole I think the coop is a good starter coop, it is value for money, I purchased it to keep a hen separate, whilst introducing a new small flock, and will use it in future if a hen needs separating when poorly. I needed a small coop quickly and this came overnight which was good as needed it in quite a hurry. I was able to put the coop together on my own using the instructions in an afternoon (with breaks!) though needed a second pair of hands to help to put on the hinged side of the roof. Before putting it together I found it useful to bag up the screws in plastic money bags and put bigger labels in the bag, which indicated the screw code and the step number in each - pic attached. I'm not a youngster, I'm a pensioner, so this approach helped me to be organised. A bit more detailed instruction would have been helpful in putting the nest box together, though I figured it out eventually, after a cuppa. So I'd say the coop style is practical, the openings being in the right places for access. My only criticism is that of the ramp and why I have given 4 stars and not 5. My hen found it very slippery to walk down, she'd grip onto a rung then slide down to the next as there's such a large gap between each rung, not enough rungs for the hen to grip onto, after all they only take small steps - you might say 'well, she could fly down', though in my experience they generally walk down. My suggestion to the makers is that it would be better if a) more rungs were added to the ramp, or even better b) wood used similar to that of decking is used that would give them a grip all the way down. I've raised the end of the ramp onto a couple of layers of bricks so it is not at such a steep angle, and it's a bit of a hop down for her, though before bad weather sets in I think I may have to add more rungs with small pieces of wood, or find another solution. If the makers of the coop/ramp come up with an improved, tested out with chickens solution, perhaps they'd let me know to give me an option of an improved ramp? All in all for me, a reasonable cost, quick delivery, pretty good instructions, and a practical coop layout, ticks lots of boxes.
